OUR SMS RECHARGE AND RECHARGE NOW APP ARE CLOSING 31 JANUARY, 2015

We're closing our SMS Recharge and Recharge Now app on 31 January, 2015 which will affect the way you can recharge your Optus Prepaid Mobile and Prepaid Mobile Broadband services. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Why Is This Happening?

We're streamlining the ways customers can recharge their Optus Prepaid services. So while this means some options are closing - there are still lots of other easy ways to recharge.

WHAT OTHER RECHARGE OPTIONS DO I HAVE?

Prepaid Mobile customers can:

  • Recharge via the My Optus app (downloadable from Google Play and iTunes)
  • Call 555 from your Prepaid Mobile using your credit card
  • Recharge Online via Paypal, Credit Card or Internet Bank Transfer
  • Through My Account
  • For other options go here

Prepaid Mobile Broadband customers can:

  • Recharge Online via Paypal, Credit Card or Internet Bank Transfer
  • Through My Account
  • For other options go here

LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE APP TO DOWNLOAD?

When it comes to recharging, the My Optus app has a lot of the same functionality and features as the Recharge Now app for Prepaid Mobile customers. With it you can:

  • Recharge standard amounts or top-ups with a credit card
  • Recharge based upon favourite three recharge amounts
  • Recharge other Optus Prepaid Mobile services
  • Save favourite "other" Optus Prepaid Mobile services with name and, if you are an iPhone user, also with a photo.
  • "Child" Optus Prepaid Mobile service can request "parent" to make a recharge when they have "credit" or "no credit"
  • View the balance(s) of your Optus Prepaid Mobile and other Optus Prepaid services.
  • Optus Postpaid Mobile customers can set up favourites to recharge
  • Optus Prepaid Mobile customers can "Request a recharge" from a Optus Postpaid Mobile customer

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately this is not available at this stage.

You can view your Optus Prepaid Mobile balance in the app, but at this stage you cannot view the balances of other Optus Prepaid Mobile services that you have recharged using the app.

You don't need to register for the My Optus app or provide a password so you don't need to provide or update these details.

Unfortunately you cannot recharge your Optus Prepaid Mobile Broadband service using My Optus app at this stage.

No, unfortunately recharge using SMS is no longer available after 31 January, 2015.
